Business Services

StowITnShowIT offers IT support for small to medium sized businesses (or other organisations) where it is not cost effective to maintain an 'in-house' computer specialist. We initially provided this service to several local businesses at their request, and now advertise generally. The main benefit of the service is to have a familiar and trusted first point of contact when something goes wrong, and an impartial source of advice about the involvement of computers in future plans.

Computer Services

• Telephone/e-mail contact when a fault occurs. In many cases, faults in settings, etc. can be corrected over the phone.
• On site visits to deal with problems when necessary.
• Diagnosis to determine whether outside help is needed (is an internet fault a computer error or a matter for the BT engineer?).
• Remote assistance by connection to your computer over the internet - by arrangement.
• Help with e-mail, internet security issues and internet connections.
• Conversion to broadband, multiple connections, networks, wireless routers.
• Help with file organisation, back ups, software tasks.
• Advice regarding upgrades to computer equipment and purchase of new equipment in relation to the tasks undertaken. We look for the most cost effective alternative over a 3-5 year period.
• Occasional use of service or regular computer checks.
• Account based charging (invoiced at periods of, say 3 months) to reduce administrative costs and keep charges as low as possible. Charges based on accumulated time in 5 minute units for work in my office (i.e. minimum charge only 5 minutes) and in 15 minute units (with a 30 minute minimum) for visits to your site.

Web Design and Management

Our web design service is detailed elsewhere on this site. The benefits for business are summarised below:

• Initial discussion of your requirements at my office without obligation. (On site visits might involve costs).
• Individual design to your requirements, including style, layout and colour schemes.
• Text, information and photographs processed for internet display.
• Database functions and interactive forms
• Projects arranged to fit within a maximum budget or within agreed fixed limits.
• Domain names and web hosting arranged at low cost.
• Sites up and running within your time scale.
• Updating service (currently within 48 hours).
• Option for simple self-update procedure for parts of your site.
• On line trading with credit card payments (subject to your status).
• All web site design costs are individually quoted, but guideline charges are included for your information elsewhere in this site.
